A Plea For A Friend

If you are a traditional tabletop roleplayer, you might have heard of Eldritch RPG, published a few years ago by Goodman Games. Well, as it just so happens, Dan Cross, its creator, is a family friend of ours. And he is 34 hours and 800 some odd dollars away from being able to fund a revised edition of the rules on Kickstarter.

In addition to revising the rules, the funding allows for expansion on gameplay elements that were cut from the original release, including the original campaign setting specifically designed for the Eldritch system, Ainerêve. The setting was written by Peter Schaefer (Exalted and Scion, among other things) and inspired by Moorcock and Zelazney’s visions of shifting fantasy landscapes (trivia moment: Heinlein coined this Pantheistic Solipsism, aka World as Myth). It also aims to add extensive artwork and polish to the game.

My favorite from the KS page. By Eric Bergeron.

Dan, despite the low budget quality of the intro video, is no slouch or newbie in the RPG world, having contributed to several projects beyond his brainchild here, including collaboration with the great Gary Gygax, as well as the already mentioned Schaefer and others. I can personally vouch for the fact that he is not going to take your money and run. I think what he really wants is to see Edritch done right. And it didn’t quite come out up to speed the first go ’round.

So if you have a few bucks you can spare, help a guy out. I’d hate for Dan to miss out on this by so thin a margin.
